What Size Storage Unit Do I Need?
A 5x5 fits boxes and dorm items, a 5x10 fits a small bedroom or studio, a 10x10 fits many one-bedroom moves, and a 10x20 is similar to a one-car garage.
Start with the move type
Dorm and closet loads usually start at 5x5. Studio apartments often start at 5x10. One-bedroom apartments commonly start at 10x10. Larger homes usually need 10x15, 10x20, or 10x30.
Upgrade for access
If you need to reach boxes during storage, choose more space than the tight packing estimate so you can leave an aisle and avoid unpacking the whole unit.
