The place is kept very clean, and the prices are quite affordable; however, I encountered a surprise that left me feeling a bit concerned. I tried to exit through one of the emergency exits leading to the street to save time—something I have done several times in the past, though not recently. When the door on the second floor closed behind me and I attempted to go down, I was met with a nasty little surprise: the stairwell and the door were BLOCKED BY METAL BARRICADES. I called the front desk, and the young man I spoke told me that they advise against using the emergency stairwells for precisely that reason. But what if there were a real emergency, like a fire? I gave him the location of the stairwell, yet he didn't even know which one I was referring to—which struck me as highly unprofessional on his part. He told me he would come look for me, but I remained trapped for about 15 minutes, and no one ever showed up. I ultimately had to force the door open as best I could and climb over the metal barriers just to get out. This poses a serious risk to the lives of the users.
