If you like easy access to your storage in the winter months I would recommend going somewhere else. The plowing service is terrible here as you will need to bring a shovel and 3 helpers just to access ur unit after they plow. Honestly they're better off not plowing at all. Maybe it would help if there was someone on site to direct whoever does the snow plowing...Just a thought.

Would not recommend. Rented a space with alley access. Between Cedar Lake road and my locker there are five enormous, both wide and deep, potholes that my car cannot handle. Additionally, the overhead door to my locker was off rail making it a challenge to open, manually. I commented about it on Google, they called me back and assured me that the property manager would contact me to take care of the issues. They did not for an entire six weeks. I tried to find them myself, but the property management office is always closed. Literally, I have tried multiple times in different days and times of day, to no avail. Then, one day, two weeks in on my second month there, I received a letter informing me that there would be a 40% increase in rent, with no other mention of the issues whatsoever. Called back and talked to another person who issued a ticket and once more they promised the property manager will be reaching out. Also, the rent increase was set, with only a discretional delay of one month on application, which alone I find despicable as a business practice. A week later I call again stating that I am leaving for a trip, and need to know what the case will be because this would be a deciding factor whether I stayed or not. The third person finds the property manager and she calls me, finally. But she is not able to do anything in 'such a short notice' and demands to leave my keys with them while away, or else they will cut the lock and charge me with the cost of a new one. We make an appointment to drive and leave it with her, and once more she was not at the office? I called and told them to not do anything, I am done, I am moving out as soon as I am back from my trip. She said 'this is not possible' and I ended up threatening with a lawsuit if they violated my space during my absence. Needless to say, there was no mention of fixing the potholes! At this point, I am concluding that this place is to be avoided at all cost, which, by the way and speaking about my own unit, is comparable to much higher quality storage provided just a block away. The two stars are here only for the convenience of initial setup, which is great, because apparently there is no property manager involved.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but mgmt or ownership of this place is problematic/concerning - seeing homeless peeps (dirty with shopping carts, etc, (don't mean to stereotype) and other folks who I wouldn't expect to be permitted in this supposedly secured storage facility, present on numerous occasions, even after hours..... I'd also like to mention, very soon after signing an agreement w/ iStorage, my monthly rate increased exponentially; I'd also like to mention, I just updated my debit card number, this place hounding me before I could even update my payment info - I've since updated this info, but will still probs be gettin late charge, and I cannot say anything kind about customer service (except for a nice lady that was working at the front desk at one point, but cannot say more) and their response to my particular predicament(s) regarding property security and customer loyalty, despite being a goo& standing c ustomer for over a year. I certainly have other issues with iStorage, but I'm just about done with this review, so take from it what you will. edit, I am updating to just one star, just because I've never been impressed with the management or terms involved in doing business with this company, and the fact that it's been so difficult to find any sort of meaningful resolution, I just would rather be done with them all together. I think I may have lost most all of my respect for iStorage. shoot, I should edit this review further, make it more succinct and detailed... but I just want to do a quick update, rent increase for a second time, exponentially, I think the second rate increase was $50 a month, despite no types of improvements or whatever -my belongings are no more safe and secured as they were previously, in this 5 ft x 8 ft space. and it seems like they're again charging a pretty high additional fee just for this shitty little space in their storage. it's me who is at fault, shouldn't be relying on a place like this, I probs should just get my shit out of there or forget about it. unfortunately, the long message, but since I had my beef, unable to get any kind of legit response from the company, I expect shady practices common - For Real
