I can’t say enough good things about Gladys at the Public Storage on Widgeon Road in Norfolk. From the moment I walked in, she treated me with kindness and genuine care. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answered every question with patience, and made the whole process feel effortless. In a world where customer service often feels rushed or impersonal, Gladys stands out as someone who truly goes above and beyond. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made me feel completely at ease with my decision to store here. Public Storage is lucky to have her, and I’m grateful I got the chance to work with someone who puts so much heart into helping people

I’ve been renting a storage unit at this location for the past few years, and I want to recognize Gladys for the outstanding service she’s provided during my time here. She has always been professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful whenever I had questions or needed assistance. Gladys goes above and beyond to make sure customers feel taken care of, and it really made my experience stress-free. I truly appreciate her kindness and dedication—she’s the reason I stayed at this property for so long. Thank you, Gladys!

Things I liked: 1.was convenient to enter the code thru phone or on keypad at the gate 2.Excellent hours of operation for the storage unit 3.Well lit storage lot 4. I didnt have to drive back 20 Minutes to the lot to cancel my rent, they already did! 5. Storage unit at the time of purchase had a decent price. Things I didn’t like: 1. Rent increases quite often like every other month, for me at first I paid $54 and I rented it for like a year and 2 months and once I paid my final bill it went up to $100. 2. One time I thought I had lost my keys and I had called them to pay for another one, it seemed like a mess. In order for me to get new keys, I had to wait 2 weeks for someone to come out of town with a lock breaker to break my lock and I had to pay I think like $30 bucks for them to do all of that, thank God I found my keys. 3. Of the rent is increasing so rapid like that, they could have at least made the walls inside the storage unit metal or something hard because the card board cuts so easily, I could see another persons belongings sticking thru mine. 4. Probably the worst one of all. I had came in one month and I seen rat poop everywhere. Once u moved my stuff out, they got in almost all of my stuff, even stuff that I had in boxes, now granted some of this is my fault bc I put some food in there in cardboard boxes but I noticed that they had damaged stuff that didn’t even have food it in it, they got all in my bags, blender, clothes. I’ve looks at other reviews and I guess I’m not the only person that had this happened, it’s not normal. They really need to do something about that. I had to throw away a lot of stuff and wash almost everything that was in there. I’m not looking for any refunds but I hope that they resolve that issue. The storage units are not fully secure if big rats can get in. I recommend if you are going to put your stuff in their storage units, please use tubberware ware or anything hard. Do not put your stuff in boxes or trash bags otherwise you’ll be in for a disaster. Or I would just recommend going to an indoor storage facility.
