Public Storage

Great when it was Hillside Storage. Cindy Watson was the on site manager but she retired. The next time I used the storage, it was bought by Public Storage and they jacked up the rental prices, right after I rented. I noticed that the climate controlled building suddenly stopped being comfortable temps. There were break ins because people can walk onto the property and no security cameras outside. There were times the music was unbearably loud or just all loud static. Roxy began to disappear and signs on the door were not helpful. I ended up moving out my storage, but discovered items missing that I know were in storage bins when I'd get seasonal items out. I didn't experience anything particularly exceptional about Public Storage but convenient locations. Just too much to pay for 4 walls and air that is not without bugs, spiders and leaves inside the CC building. Just my experience but there's other storage companies in Wichita now. The one thing that was annoying, was the site manager put Public Storage stickers on locks that I bought. ,(Public Storage lets you use your own locks so it's weird that the stickers are needed? Maybe someone is bored?).

The on site employees have i dealt with are great, kind , and seem to actually enjoy their jobs. This month the company increased the cost over 40% $68 up to $98 for my unit , while advertising the same unit for only $66 for new rentals. I can understand offering promotions for new customers and can understand raising rates in small amounts but over 40%. I discovered this at the very last minute I didn't have time to find a different company and move my stuff prior to the Due date, but this will be the last month I rent from here! 5 stars to the on-site team, 0 Stars for the company

This was my first time renting a unit here, and the experience could not have been worse. I was charged $80 and given a unit number that does not exist. I’ve been unable to get in contact with anyone for help or clarification. While searching for the unit, I spoke with two current renters who both warned me to leave while I could, sharing that they’ve had ongoing issues as well. This operation feels deceptive and super unprofessional. Be very cautious.
