Tempe Choice Self Storage

The ceiling in the unit had obviously been repaired prior to my moving in. The patch from the ceiling was hanging down 2 feet and there was obvious signs of prior water damage. I reported these issues to management on 2/9/2021 by email, voice message, and in person. I was told other areas of the facility were being repaired which had higher priority and "...I should cover my stuff up with a tarp in case it should rain" (no..I'm not joking here!) No surprise then when it rained in Mar 2021 that water leaked into my unit and caused damage. When I reported this to management they said they got approval to have roof repairs done (though only AFTER I reported that property damage had occurred), it would be several weeks for them to start the repairs, and they were to begin repairs on another building first. When the roof repairmen finally started working on the roof (later than I was first told), they caused even more damage to the ceiling of my unit just from walking on the roof and made the previous ceiling patch (as well as the electrical conduit attached to the ceiling) become dislodged from it. Oh, and plaster from the ceiling rained down on my property like snow at Christmas. I moved out as soon as my 3 month prepaid lease was up on 4/27/2021 (at my own expense, of course). If you rent from here, CAVEAT EMPTOR: you will have maintenance issues, lack of response from management (except for a long list of well-rehearsed excuses), and you risk damage to your property. If these issues do not concern you, then by all means lease from here....just make sure you have very good renter's insurance and cover your property with a tarp!

Super friendly and attentive staff, especially William. Great price and plenty of storage units with all different sizes. It requires access code for both getting-in and getting-out, which maximizes the security level. Very clean and tidy facilities, much better than uhual in my opinion. William helped us a lot when I moved out. Would come back when I need storage units in the future and I would recommend it to all my friends
