Crocker's Lockers Self Storage and Uhaul

TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE! Trust me. Very rude guy who work/own this place, especially the older guy. The younger gentlemen who’s here is the only one who is somewhat nicer than the older guy. My child’s father and I separated earlier this year but we still have this storage unit together. I also want to throw in there that I AM one of the access persons to be able to access the unit. A few months ago, myself and my new boyfriend had came to pick up some of my things from the storage unit. My boyfriend was driving and I was in the passenger seat. I had my boyfriend put in the gate code so we could get it and common sense is that if whoever is in the driver seat, that is closest to the keypad, they punch in the number. The older guy saw that happened, and flipped out on us. Telling me that I am not allowed to give the gate code out to anyone and was very very rude about how he approached us was uncalled for. I told him I wasn’t giving out the gate code, it’s my gate code and I’m the access person on file. He told me to my face he did not care. So I went in and got some of my things, on my way out the old guy proceeded to tell me that the gate code is now suspended because of what happened. So now my child’s father changed the gate code over the phone like the old guy requested. The next time we had to make a payment, the old guy then changed his rule and said “well now you have to come in and change it, you can’t do it over the phone” once my child’s father does that, the old guy then tells my child’s father I am not all access to the property or unit unless I am with my child’s father. This old guy is the most unhappiest person and just reflects onto his customers. I was never given a warning nor did he come to my window politely and tell me that I’m the only one allowed put the gate code in. All I got was a rude old man who banned me for 1 small incident. All he needed to do was politely come to me and we could have talked to out and there would have been no problem. So now I still have to pay him to keep my things in storage but I’m not allowed to go get my things unless I’m with my child’s father. Which is very inconvenient because my child’s father lives in a different city of the bridge. And the whole reason why I’m on the list is to access my own property and because my child’s father and I have totally different schedules. It’s really sad that this business continues to let this old man walk around still do “business” with people, it’s sick. This place needs to be shut down.

Rented a truck here before. They try to upsell the insurance constantly. Returned the truck back with 0 issues. Came here again for a truck and it’s the same whining about insurance and how people steal from them, and return the trucks with damage. Why are you telling me this like I’m the one who did it? I honestly don’t care about your business troubles and just need to rent a truck. Also the place is covered in cigarette smoke. Just go somewhere else you’ll thank me later.

The clerk that assisted us was rude from the beginning. We had every intention of bringing the truck back the same night, but because of an emergency in transit, our trip and unload was delayed. I called the 800 number that night and they were made aware of our situation. I understand that there was another renter that wanted to pickup the next morning, but this was completely unforeseen circumstances. We were in an area with low signal and I had someone who did have service in another area call and notify them that we wouldn't have it back until the afternoon. The clerk was very rude and nasty to her. He was not understanding whatsoever. We've been through a situation in the past with Uhaul and they were very understanding and were able to accommodate or refund the other party as things happen that are not planned. The clerk did try to call me a few times the day it was due, but as he was advised, I did not have signal. When I got to a place where I did, I listened to the messages and couldn't believe his tone and lack of empathy. I will never return to this location and recommend that other customers go to one of the many other providers.
