**Update/Note: "CubeSmart Owner" replied to this review a few weeks after posting it, saying they would like to "look into it" and asking me to reach out. Although I reached out and followed up numerous times, they have never responded, taken no action, or made attempts to rectify. I hope this has not been everyone's experience, and it further solidifies my understanding that this place does not value ethical practice or care about its customers, their property, or anyone's health and well-being. **Review: Rodents and Rudeness I rented a temperature-controlled storage unit at the CubeSmart 2545 S 6th Ave location on 12/6/23. I was using the unit to store work items, including a valuable venipuncture practice arm, so I also purchased SureSmart insurance. On 8/17/24, I went to pick up items for a class. During set up on 8/20/24, when I opened the venipuncture arm storage case, a repulsive stench smacked me. I saw tiny plastic debris but quickly shut the bag, trying not to vomit. After setting up, I took the case outside and looked closer. I found 2 dead mice inside. They chewed through the plastic covering, the bags, and the tubes, chewed pieces of the arm, contaminated the contents with feces and urine, and damaged the item beyond repair. I immediately contacted CubeSmart to report the issue. The onsite manager was kind, apologetic, and horrified and said he would have his manager call me. When I finally spoke with the district manager, Melanie Young, she was curt and dismissive. She informed me that she was not responsible and that I should submit a claim to the insurance company. Even though she said she would send the number after our call, after waiting 2 days, I had to contact her again to get it. Several days after submitting the claim, the insurance company informed me they did not cover rodent damage. As the district manager, I think Melanie was aware of this. I called her back to see what could be done. She said a few sorry, but her tone was condescending and anything but empathetic. She refused to take responsibility despite later indicating she had been aware of the rodent problem for three months. During this time, she failed to inform renters or take sufficient measures to address the infestation. As a result of the damage, I incurred significant financial losses, including the cost of replacing the arm, and the storage and insurance fees for an unsafe unit. This has profoundly impacted my business and could have seriously damaged my reputation. I am deeply disappointed with CubeSmart's handling of this situation. Their failure to provide a safe and secure storage environment and poor customer service have caused considerable stress. On August 28, 2024, I returned to the facility to terminate my contract. I brought the destroyed arm so the staff could see/smell it. The onsite manager was horrified and profusely apologetic. He brought gloves and offered to help empty the unit. We both were horrified to discover another dead mouse, droppings, and other pests. As a note, the unit where the infestation started is at the opposite end of the building from mine, with many units in between; I hope yours is not one of them. This serious public health issue could have disastrous consequences for anyone who comes into contact with the infested units and community. I urge others to be cautious. This isn't event the first issue I encountered, just the worst one. If I could leave zero stars, I would.

Shaneen was so helpful! I would recommend CubeSmart if anyone was guaranteed that level of service by employees as friendly and knowledgeable as Shaneen.
