As a cautionary tale to other consumers I feel I need to outline the experience I had with a rat infestation here, and the reasons why I will never do business with Public Storage again. Even if the recent positive reviews reflect improvements, you should know the type of company you are giving your business to. There were several negative reviews from the past year or so about the rat problem at this facility, including my own, which have now disappeared. The rating for this location used to be about 3.4 and is now 4.8, which seems strange. The onsite staff has always been kind and helpful, but they were unable to really do anything for the people whose belongings were ruined by the long standing rat infestation they had here. I had a unit for over a year, and around December 2023 the rats got into mine and wreaked havoc. I was never notified there was an issue. I only discovered the problem when I went to clean out my unit in April 2024 and discovered my belongings were covered in droppings and urine, and many items had been chewed/ eaten by rats. The company knew about the problem months before I discovered it myself. Again the onsite staff was helpful but they could not provide compensation for my ruined belongings and directed me to both their regional manager and Public Storage corporate office. After calling and emailing them for 6 months straight I never got a single response. Even if they could not reimburse me for the ruined items, I would have appreciated a refund for rent for the time period when the issue occurred because I basically paid $200 a month to have rats ruin my belongings. I also had purchased the Orange insurance, and should have read the fine print, because my policy only covered $200 for rodent damage, and the deductible was $100. They may have gotten the infestation under control, but I lost thousands of dollars worth of belongings due to Public Storage's negligence and was never acknowledged or compensated, and I don't think I am the only one. I personally have PTSD from the experience, and am sure others do too.

I've always had poor experiences when dealing with staff at storage facilities but I have to say that there is a gentleman named Juan who was actually awesome to work with. He was kind, patient and attentive.
