Public Storage on 3rd street in St Louis Mo is TERRIBLE!!!! If I could give them a 0 I would. We’re do I start, 1st the rent is hiked up over 50% if you stay there more than a couple of months with a 2 day notice as I was informed by the manager Richard who was not knowledgeable at all! Every question I asked him he had to ask the front desk lady Ari. Every encounter I have had with Ari has had a horrible taste. I moved out of the state hoping to come back soon to get my belonging out but that didn’t happen. So now I’m stuck with raising rent cost and replacement locks. Now this location is charging another $50 on top of the $19.99 lock replacement. The friendly smiles are to get you through the door, after that see if you can find someone there when you need them! Homeless people rambling through old units and sleeping in storages. BEWARE when renting because you will never get that same respect you got when you first went in to rent and please don’t think of this place as a long term rental because it’s not. THEY DONT WORK WITH ANYONE, ITS ALL ABOUT CHARGING MORE FEES & RAISING THE RENT!!!!!!!

This location has changed so much for the better in the last five years. The temp controlled unit is clean. Prices are reasonable. Ari is an incredibly staff member. I had left a few years ago and came back after they rehabbed the property. Much improved. 5 stars for the staff.

Our experience with this storage facility has been dreadful. In just four months, our monthly rate was raised from $53 to $84 — a 58.5% increase — after we already downsized from a larger unit because they repeatedly hiked the price on us there, too. When we had the larger unit, someone tried to break in and cut one of our locks, which was frightening. To make matters worse, the exterior light outside our unit was blown out for months, leaving the area very dark and unsafe feeling. Despite reporting it, nothing was done for a long time. We’ve learned the hard way that they’ll increase your rent quickly and without negotiation, and the security and maintenance are poor. I would strongly caution anyone considering storing their belongings here.
