Self-Storage at U-Haul

Austin Hines is the manager at this location. They have 3 star reviews on their other Google Review page but it is all the same people, same location. Don't let the 5 star reviews on this second google review page fool you. In order for a business to get 3 stars average, it has to be really, really bad. Never go to a 3 star establishment. Austin Hines has the worst customer service I have seen in a while. His demeanor and the way he speaks to you is as if you are insignificant. He tried to tell me that I could not get a storage unit that I paid for and that I was out of time when I wasn't. Mind you I did not raise my voice, cuss, nothing after this man was telling me to leave. Maybe if he would have released my unit quicker, I would have had some time to run across the street to get cash for the deposit because they wouldn't take my credit card. Even that I understand to a certain degree. It's funny because they seemingly mess up all the time and do not have trucks ready for reservations and all sorts of things but they have wiggle room for themselves, just not for the customers . But what I will not accept is his rudeness. He was already telling me oh well, rules are rules and just overall being extremely rude. The way he speaks to you is very aggressive. It is very offputting. I had to show his employee the time that I was guaranteed before he would consider letting me get the items in a unit that I paid for. He doesn't look you in the eyes, he doesn't care about you. Just business is business. The place has a dark energy to it. Do yourself a favor and read the many 1-star reviews on their second Google profile. Search the address and you will find them. Everything everyone is saying is true. I promise you do not under any circumstances want to go to this location. There is a bad vibe there that I can't explain. Nobody is happy there and it is probably because of the manager. He should be setting the example.

I’m not sure who the man was who helped me with my unit but he was awesome. I would recommend this location but not the other Uhaul location in Richmond

Everyone were very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I would recommend U-Haul in the future.
