Storage Post Self Storage

The manager we encountered, Candi, was extremely helpful and patient with us on multiple occasions. She gave us a full tour and showed us a few different units so we could determine the best size for our needs. When we finally came back to start renting a space, she helped us all over again. She is very professional and knowledgeable. So far so good at the Storage Post in Haledon.

I am astonished at any review above a one star. I was just advised today, January 14, 2025, by one of the employees that, due to their construction plans, everyone with a unit on the 2nd & 3rd floors will have to move all of their belongings out of their units. The representative on site advised me that they were just told this by management. The representative on site was unable to tell me what this time frame consisted of. Anyone who has a unit in this facility is already aware of the horrible conditions of these units and regardless of what the management team says in reply to these reviews, they do not try to work with you and they do not try to better understand the customer's experience. The amount of money that they charge for their storage units is ridiculous considering the conditions that their units are in: The walls are caving in from the unit next to you. There are no fire alarms or sprinklers. This is a safety hazard. And now they are asking customers to vacate their units almost immediately with no prior notification.

I thought this was going to be a decent experience at a storage facility because they gave me a decent intro rate. Lo and behold they crept the price up twice. Mind you, this isn’t a traditional storage facility but a revamped school. So you had to navigate tight walkways and an elevator that may or may not work if you can get someone from the office. The worst part was when I just closed my account they charged me a full months rent for a unit that was empty already. By rights they shouldn’t be allowed to rent it until next month but we all know that’s not going to happen. Good luck trying to ever get a good word about this place from me. Hope the petty foul practice of no prorating bites you. And yes I do take responsibility for being 2 days not cancelling but the unit was empty.
