In Manteca, CA the front office is professional. The site and units are clean. I paid extra for indoor security, but they stopped locking bldg doors after 7:00, so I was severely robbed. No cams inside and unsure of how good cams are outside. Police have to come by to pick up security footage. I gave exact times to look and heard nothing from them or police. Once a theft is reported, temp cams should be set up indoors. I'm not the only one who would be robbed. They have their own insurance, which has to be submitted in 30 days. I couldn't get things from moving company on time. They want to know purchase dates of stolen items. It wasn't a car! Who keeps dates of household items? My safe was broken into. The prices kept going up and their customer online program was not easy to use. They don't allow bank payments so had to send checks. They want payments only through their bank.

I've had my storage unit for almost 5 years and never had an issue until this company took over. During the changeover my unit done how accidentally got paid for by another tenant's card. Since I was receiving emails that my account was paid I had no idea. After about 5 months it was realized that this was happening. I received a extremely generic text about it and was told I owe somewhere around $1000 which included an exorberant amount of late fees. I told them I do not have that much and needed to make payment arrangements. It was agreed that they would wave all late fees with a payment arrangement. After paying $600 on this I kept getting invoices that stated I owed $720 and then I'd get another for $920. The late fees weren't removed and they added a $100 lein fee on my account. Then on December 1st they debited my account $830 without my knowledge or consent. They also enrolled me into auto debit, again, without my consent. Because I didn't catch the charge until the next day, the refund that I demanded, couldn't go through until the funds on hold went through. That held up my money for almost 4 days, in which caused me to have my rent and other bills to be paid late. The unauthorized debit also over drew my account initiating insufficient funds charges. Because it was an unauthorized debit it also triggered my debit card to be closed because it was an unauthorized debit. I also received invoices with different amounts due and they never show any payments made by me just charges. I find this a very questionable business practice. It's a shame because the storage company that Storage Pro management was great and I never had any issues and it's unfair for them to take the hit to their reputation but I don't want this type of sketchy business practices to happen to anyone else like it did me. This has caused a lot of inconvenience, frustration, anger and unnecessary stress. Since I reside in a cold climate that snows in the winter I will be planning on transferring my belongings to another storage company. If you plan on doing business with this company then I highly suggest as a customer to keep a very keen on eye your account to make sure there are no unauthorized debits/charges. It's sad that after doing business with a company for almost 5 years this is how customers get treated and in the end it's the local business that will suffer because they ultimately will lose customers if this type of behavior continues. Also, I've looked over previous reviews and the responses from them are unprofessional and down right defensive and on the aggressive side. They blame the customers for writing about their experience. I don't think I've seen that type of response from a company regarding a not so positive review ever until now
