U-Haul Moving & Storage of St Clair Shores

People are nice. Unfortunately service isn’t something you can trust. Not sure if it’s location or U-Haul. Had a hitch install. Next day bracket comes loose and muffler almost started dragging on concrete. As their shift changes suddenly what I was told would take 30min to an hour to repair becomes they can’t tell me. I have health issues and was stuck at U-Haul waiting. Was told to go ask mechanic myself to get a status instead of employee following up. Of course he couldn’t tell me. The staff who initial talked to me but had to go was very accommodating and you could tell was trying to make things right. Unfortunately others, I’m not sure. Not sure if location is understaffed, underpaid or undertrained . But considering they are installing a hitch to pull a U-Haul trailer moving out of state shouldn’t they take this more seriously? Suggestion- If you get a hitch installed, drive your vehicle around and keep an eye on it afterwards. And make sure you get it done in advance so you have time if anything goes wrong before you hook up a trailer.

The gentlemen who helped me were very professional and efficient. I was part of the 7am Saturday morning rush, and they made everyone cheerful! Great business, has that "small town" feeling you don't see anymore. I would definitely go out of my way to patronize this location.

It was easy book online at a good price. All I needed to do was pick up the keys. The van I rented was clean and in great shape, and the staff was very friendly and polite. I would definitely rent from this location again.
