Extra Space Storage

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Extra Space Storage on Pleasant Hill Rd. When I recently checked on my outside climate-controlled unit, I discovered it had been infested with rats. Several of my personal belongings were chewed through and damaged beyond repair. Boxes were torn apart, and there were clear signs of rodent activity throughout the unit. As a result, I had to throw away a lot of my items due to contamination and damage. This has been both financially and emotionally upsetting. I immediately went to the front desk and canceled my unit. I did not have insurance because when I signed up, it was emphasized as protection mainly in case of theft or break-ins. Since I did not plan on keeping the unit long term, I did not feel it was necessary. I never expected to need coverage for a pest infestation. If there is a known pest issue, customers should be informed. Proper cleanliness and effective pest control should be a basic standard for any storage facility, especially one offering climate-controlled units. Unfortunately, this experience caused significant loss and stress. I would not recommend this location to anyone storing valuable or sentimental belongings.

I’ve had such a wonderful experience dealing with Amena. She is not only helpful in assisting me with my payments but very patient with me as I have difficulty accessing my account. She is very understanding and takes her time with me explaining everything. She knows what she’s doing and I’m truly grateful for her and the service she’s provided me.

I recently had the most pleasant experience when calling in for information about renting a storage unit. I believe it was Manager Amena who assisted me. She was incredibly insightful and genuinely helpful. Even though I had a lot of questions — some of them probably ridiculous — she was patient, kind, and took the time to walk me through the different unit sizes and pricing options. It’s rare these days to find someone with such excellent customer service skills. She made me feel heard, valued, and completely comfortable asking anything I needed to know. Kudos to her for going above and beyond!
