Menards Self Storage Lincoln North

Storage units are fine. Customer service is NOT. I canceled my unit fist week in May and gave a 30 day notice as required. We moved out of the unit 2 weeks later. They are now trying to charge me Again for this unit that was already canceled via customer service. I have yet to hear back or get someone on the phone to resolve this. If you get thier units be prepared for shady charges and difficulties in canceling.

I'm beside myself. I have 2 storages one is an outside unit and my things are getting ruined in it and they keep bumping the rent up since I've spent about a week n a half rearrangeing Menards unit sorting and disposing of things I can live with out. My husband works second shift so he helps me at night into the early morning hours. This morning I finally got finished with what I needed to get done in order to move the other storage over only to find out now after many hours and what have ya of minimizeing the locker to accommodate the other storage to be moved I'm told I'm kicked out of the Menards storage for violating some rule. Excuse me hey what rule was it. I just so happened to have been talked to by the lady who works in the day there she told me that from looking in the unit it looked like I was staying in it. Ummm no! I told her I have my dog here and to keep him from running around the building I have him pinned up inside the unit and I had pillows on the floor for him to lay on and had boxed blocking it so he couldn't get out and run the halls. I spent about 25 minutes reviewing the rules here and not 1 rule was violated NO ONE WAS SLEEPING OR STAYING IN THE UNIT PERIOD NO ONE WAS COOKING FOOD SMOKING CIGARETTES VAPING ECT SO IM ASSUMING BECAUSE I HAD A LITTLE PIN IN THE UNIT BLOCKING MY DOG IN IS WHY I GOTTA GO. THIS MORNING I HAD EVEN GIVIN THE LADY WHO WORKS HERE A THANK YOU CARD FOR BEING SO NIVE AND KINDA BEING THERE WHEN I NEEDED AN EAR TO RING TOLD HER GOOD LUCK ON HER FUTURE PLANS ECT SHE IS A VERY NICE LADY . SO NOW I locked away from my bag of medications because I removed things from my vehicle so I could get a load from the other storage only to have wasted my gas my time filling my car to bring over here. My rent is paid up here and I'm locked out

I complained right off that the unit that we rented had ceiling tiles caving in above it. I was told the would put in a work order. Well, received a notice 9/1 that my rent was going up 10/1. Checked a few days later, no work had been done. I moved my stuff and called to cancel and was told I had to give them 30 days notice. Really? You didn't fix the issue I complained about and I gave you over 30 days. In fact, Menard's said no complaint on file. My stuff had Gipson-like dust all over it and I had to sweep out unit. Of course, no trash can so I had to dump it in the lot. It wasn't a little but a lot. I pointed that and the ceiling out to the manager person, different person than I originally complained to. She said she could do nothing but provide a photo and email to Menard's. She also said I would have been charged for that if I hadn't swept it out too... This is not the first storage unit I rented but the worst and I won't rent here again or recommend anyone else rent here. Oh, and the manager said some units have had water damage, which I was worried about with broken ceiling tiles over my unit. IDK if they were going to do upkeep on the roof. I am surprised I haven't seen any reviews citing that.
