Use Go-Mini moving and portable storage instead. They have better prices, you actually get to talk to the human running the show, and they are honest about their service. PODS on the other hand left me stranded days before a home renovation, while I was dealing with an emergency health condition for my son. Bottom line is lack of effort and experience for the Bolingbrook PODS location. Don’t believe their PODZILLA clearances. Even if you meet those, unless it is a perfectly level solid driveway you likely will be stranded too. The driver refused to place my pod on the level grass next to my driveway and left me scrambling. Worse, they didn’t even give me time to resolve the issue with customer service before they canceled my order without consulting me. I clearly told them in my order I needed the unit placed in the grass next to my driveway. I even called ahead, as their confirmation email instructed, and was told it was no problem, just work with the driver the day of. When day of came the driver wasn’t prepared for it and his supervisor insisted they are not allowed to place their units in the grass. When I pointed them to section 14 of their own contract that explicitly states grass placement, in addition to explicitly being they could do this they sent me to customer service. Multiple customer service reps tried to call the PODS location over the course of an hour but none could get the supervisor to answer the phone. It wasn’t until then that I was told there is a $25 non-paved surface fee. They refused to put this order through a different location that might have experience, only offering to email the supervisor that refused my service the first time, and re-booked me for the following day. The icing on the frustration cake was that because they canceled my order (again, without consulting me) discounts available when I booked were no longer available. So I went from 25% off and a free month to 20% off and NO free month. I can’t think of how I could possibly get worse customer service than this. This is ‘take it or leave it’ even though we refuse to do something we told you we could do. On top of it all, I’m writing this from a pediatric ICU next to my unconscious infant son. Nobody from PODS cares about their customers. No matter how many times I offered to help, explained how horrible of a position this is putting me in, they offered no meaningful apology or support beyond ‘let’s try again’ and because of our mistake you owe us more money.

*Not Recommend* *I would stay as far away from PODs as possible* We rented a 16’ PODS container that sat in our yard for about two weeks, only to discover it was far too small for our household items. We canceled and rented a 26’ U-Haul, which barely fit everything and cost far less. Despite canceling once it was clear the POD wouldn’t work, PODS still charged us a full monthly fee, citing their terms and conditions. I contacted them multiple times and even offered to pay for delivery and pickup of the empty container, but they refused any compromise. Be aware: if a PODS container doesn’t meet your needs, you may still be stuck paying significant charges. There are more affordable and customer-friendly alternatives. We will not use PODS again and do not recommend them.

Our 2-day move with 4 large PODs went smoothly thanks to James, our driver. He was professional, personable, and delivered with quality. What truly stood out was his commitment to keeping us updated, even managing a POD delivery that hadn't been scheduled in the system. What could have been a major issue, James expertly helped bring it all together. James is awesome and we highly recommend him!
