Beware: the entire business model is designed to trap you in here and gouge your wallet. They lure you with super low intro rates for the first couple months, and then they start jacking up the rates every few months. I had my unit from July 2024 until February 2026 and in that year and a half, rates went from $60 per month to $120 per month. They know moving is a PITA so they know people will just accept the rate hike instead of going through the trouble of finding a new storage unit facility and moving all their stuff out. This is actually a really awful thing to do to older or disabled people because they often times don't have the ability to move out, and so they are stuck getting ripped off. Its an awful, greedy business practice. Their rate hike emails add insult to injury by including some BS note about how it was "only done after careful consideration," which is infuriating because you know its such total BS. Read my attached screenshots of the rate hike emails to see for yourself. They also purposefully installed the slowest elevator on earth to further disincentivize moving out, and they close at 6pm so that way the only time most people could move out is on weekends, which creates a massive bottleneck since there is only one elevator, which also emits an extremely loud and awful buzzing noise if you hold the elevator doors open for more than about 10 seconds, despite the fact that its very frequently necessary to do so. And they won't pro-rate when you move out either, so you will pay for an entire month even if you leave on the 1st. They are very quick to re-list your vacant unit once you leave so that they can double-dip. The garage doors into the facility are constantly broken, so your stuff isn't actually that "secure" after all, yet the contract fine print tells you that those features are not part of the agreement (eyeroll). The ONLY positive thing I have to say about this garbage company is that the on-site employees have always been extremely helpful. Its too bad that they surely have to face the brunt of management's incessant drive to bleed their customers dry. I wish the best for the on site employees, and wish the worst for the management team and owners. Finding a clean, secure and professionally run storage facility in downtown Portland can be quite the challenge. At the time I was looking for a place to temporarily store items I meticulously went down the list of all options available in that area of town. This SecureSpace crew treated me as a valued customer the minute I made first contact, so impressive in fact that I felt worth writing a review for. Charles and Amber obviously care about the level of service they provide to their customers (something you don't always get in this arena), they were both incredibly kind, genuine and truly helpful start to finish. Very highly recommend!!

Today I spoke with Liz, who was able to help me out with renting a smaller space on the same floor as my current unit. She was very helpful, friendly and professional. Overall my experiences with this facility have been excellent, which I can't say for all storage facilities! UPDATE: Stephanie helped me out with a third smaller unit this morning and was so patient and helpful through the entire process! Excellent customer service and so friendly. I truly appreciate the top-notch service at this facility and wanted to be sure to give her a shout-out! :)
