U-Haul Moving & Storage of Cuyahoga Falls

We’re in the trenches of moving and had an issue with the initial U-Haul truck we rented. We weren’t sure what to expect when we came back into this location looking for a remedy to our situation. But Joe worked with us to find a solution right then and there. He made it quick & easy. Something we desperately needed. So thank you Joe, we appreciate you helping us with this bump in the road. The truck was in good condition, which I was very worried about. It did have manual windows, which was hilarious to try to explain to my GenZ partner how to open them! I am 4'10" and the wheel was adjustable up and down but not forwards and backwards, but I was able to comfortably sit in the seats and reach the pedals. The mirrors however did not adjust in far enough so I did have to move my head to see in them fully, but they were still safe despite the limitation. The team members were helpful with our initial reservation, buying boxes, and returning the truck thereafter. I was able to drive the truck safely, even through inclement weather. I did pay for the extra insurance, which I feel was incredibly affordable and totally worth the peace of mind.

I am very pleased to update this review. I heard back today on my complaint. The company has refunded me the total rental fee, minus a charge for one local day, which is fair. Many thanks to those who arrived at this decision. I have revised my rating from a 1 star to 3 stars. I am awaiting disposition of my complaint to Corporate Customer Service, but in the meantime this is what happened. I rented a U-Haul 10' truck Wed. 10/15 at 10:30am, a cost of $540.00, for a one-way drop in Cadillac MI. The purpose was to haul a couch. I went back at 5:30pm that same day to turn in the U-Haul truck because we could not get the couch out of my basement (couch went down before a remodel). The manager said if I returned the truck where I rented it (Cuyahoga Falls) they would charge me double the rental fee, which would amount to $1080.00. So I had to drive an empty U-Haul truck 6 hours to Cadillac MI. I returned the truck the next day in Cadillac and told the agent my story. He said it was crazy and that I was ripped off. He said the manager should have changed my contract from a one-way drop off to a local, in-town rental and just charged me for the day. In his opinion, he said the manager was just being lazy and didn't want to deal with making the change. He told me to call U-Haul's corporate customer service and gave me the phone number. I called that afternoon. The customer service rep agreed that the rental should have been changed to a local in-town contract and submitted a claim. I am now waiting to hear the result of my claim.
