U-Haul Moving & Storage of Grapevine

I rented a trailer to tow my classic 4 x 4 Jeep. Either the inexperienced attendant gave me a faulty trailer. Or did not know what to look for. I purchased the additional insurance for my classic. ( just in case ) I have a box full of receipts as I was rebuilding the vehicle. Moving it from my city home to my ranch. If you look closely at the first few pictures. You can see where the safety pen that keeps the trailer connected does not have the safety hairpin. That’s also my mistake. But I’m not the professional that rents out trailers that should ensure all safety equipment has been checked-and ready for use on the highway with general motor in public. So not only was my vehicle destroyed. But I was almost in a heinous accident. Luckily the people on the roadway headed toward me. We’re also paying attention. I could’ve died. They could’ve died. That doesn’t seem to make an impact to U-Haul or the insurance company. The trailer broke half 60 miles into the 75 mile trip. Which totaled my Jeep. U-Haul referred me to the insurance company. The insurance company has dragged their feet. But beyond that they’ve only offered me about 25%-35% of the vehicles value. And they want to keep the jeep with all of the brand new parts. They said take it or leave it. As a matter of fact, they have ghosted me. This incident is not my fault. I took pictures at the time that I received the trailer so you can see how to save yourself. So basically I have a total vehicle that I can let go of. But I will lose about $3000 in parts Plus the vehicle value. Or take their chump change. And on top of that when the adjuster came out, he was really scoping out the luggage rack, and told me that if one item came off of this Jeep, it would be deducted from the price. I literally just put that luggage rack on there two weeks before the incident ! But he was checking it out for his Subaru, which had a small smaller luggage rack ! I can’t guarantee he was gonna take it. But he sure acted like it. It’s very disheartening to know that you can purchase the additional insurance. Not be at fault all of this be U-Haul’s fault. And still walk away empty-handed with a destroyed vehicle and nothing more than I discussed, we low offer and no consideration to look at receipts for additional added value to the vehicle. It’s an old vehicle. So it’s not worth a whole bunch to begin with. But I put a lot of money and work into it. Maybe look at Penske, enterprise, your local rental company, you have other options. So at the end of the day, I took pictures when I received the trailer. It destroyed yes my vehicle was ugly. But the last thing I was going to do to it was painted and give it to my son as a gift. Now the floorboard is completely lifted up and nothing on the inside is straight anymore because the wheel from the trailer punctured the floorboard. So I’m not sure what I’m gonna do from here. But I’m going to constantly leave reviews. As this is true incident. And well be careful. Because employees may travel from store to store if they are shorthanded, somebody calls in, etc. good luck . Because it wasn’t on my side. Yeah they still yet to get back to me to address the differential between what money is invested in the jeep, versus what they want to pay. Will keep updating this. Protect yourself. Their insurance sucks.

We got a call from a customer needing to empty 2 storage units full of office furniture/cubicles. When we showed up I was surprised how clean and wide the hallways were. The cargo elevator was amazing as well. For us in the junk removal business this was amazing as we were able to load everything quick and easy. Great place for sure. I personally spoke with some of the employees and they were very friendly. I would highly recommend this place of you are looking for a storage place in the Mid-Cities!
