U-Haul Moving & Storage of Mansfield

I have used U-Haul for many years, as my work has required me to travel extensively across the country. And I highly recommend this North Central Ohio location. Unfortunately, I discovered that both units had sustained severe damage. I later learned this was the result of roofer fraud and that the insurance company would be assisting, as dozens of other units were also affected. This is the only time I have ever experienced damage in more than a decade of renting storage units, and I have never had an issue prior. Despite the circumstances, the staff graciously gave me the time I needed to fully document and clear out my units, which took several days instead of one, and they did not charge me for an additional month. The staff and management at this Mansfield location have been the best of any I have encountered, including those I worked with for years at other U-Haul facilities in California and Colorado. Although this was by far the most extensive damage I have experienced, the professionalism, kindness, knowledge, and flexibility of the staff here stood out. They truly care about the brand’s reputation and customer experience. My only concern was with the loading bay. Next to the sliding glass doors is a permanent sign that reads “SLIPPERY WHEN WET.” Over the weekend, while moving heavy items in very dry conditions with U-Haul trollies and an appliance dolly, I slipped multiple times despite changing footwear, including sailing shoes, water shoes, and even advanced Salomon mountaineering shoes. Even in dry conditions, the painted grey epoxy floor offered almost no traction. On the last day, I twisted my knee from a serious slip, and only by removing my shoes and socks was I able to gain traction and safely maneuver the dolly into the van. Having moved my medium-safe and heavy items many times over the years at other U-Haul facilities without issue, I believe this surface presents a real safety and liability risk, as even professional loading ramps slide and cannot be walked on securely. The timing of these events was especially difficult. Our international brand, Miripolsky LLC, with world-renowned artist Andre Miripolsky, has coordinated with ***** Confidential, *** Confidential, and Radio Elton John for a formal announcement and launch during the Brewery Artwalk in Los Angeles this October. This event is the largest open-air artwalk in the United States, draws tens of thousands of visitors, and will be covered by international media. Our website and store modernization have been held back for nearly a year to align with this joint announcement. I was scheduled to be in Los Angeles preparing for this when the roofer's fraud and negligence damage was discovered. No movers would touch the units in their condition, which meant I had to go at it alone. Between the damage, the slippery bay floors, and my heavy workload, what would normally have taken one day stretched into multiple days. The staff understood completely and were incredible, and even my own team understands the situation. Normally, after losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in property, much uninsured, one would be livid. To be clear, no company/storage facility can account for contractor fraud and/or negligence. But because of the professionalism shown by the staff at this location, both since I first rented here in 2021 and through the difficult process of closing my units this past weekend, I can only be grateful. As president of Miripolsky LLC, I know firsthand how rare it is to find competent, caring staff. Our company is preparing a world tour for charitable causes launching this December, and I can say without hesitation that the team here represents the same level of excellence we seek in our own work. Easy to book online. Truck was ready on time. Dislikes- smell of truck cab was offensive. Either cleaner used or air freshener spray- had to wear N 95 mask for 14 hrs and had asthma attack first night when picked up truck. Will not accept next truck in June if smells as bad. (Van last year did not smell at all). Also two charges were added when picking up truck I did not order /want. Had to go inside to get these charges removed. Thankfully inside was still open as App would not allow me to remove.

Brylynn was very kind, considerate, caring, and helpful. Process was so easy and it was my first time using this facility.
