US Storage Centers

I would give this place 5 stars due to May (I believe her name is) the Manager at this location. She has been so polite and helpful, as well as, knowledgeable when I come into this location. The reason I gave it the rating that I have is because the price of my unit went up without notice and I've been paying 30 dollars more than I used too. It's a little steep to store here but it is a nice location and close, a clean building, and May the manager is nice. I store here for those reasons. I hope she stays because of previous people weren't as helpful or even kept the building open long enough to handle business.

Absolutely the worst customer experience I’ve experienced at any business in Durham. I wasn’t going to write a review, but I’m a current customer who has been given the runaround for about a month now. About a month ago I inquired about moving to a larger unit on the first floor, they had one available but refused to hold it because “they only do that for new customers, not current ones.” I planned to show up at 9:30am the next day because the office was closing soon, but my car battery died and by the time I arrived, the unit had sold. I was annoyed but decided to stick around and wait a month to ask about a new unit. At the end of December I called, and there was one available. I drove to the store during office hours to check. No one was there. I came back the next day, same story. I called and the call center told me the manager has called out and to come Monday at 9:30. I arrive today at 9:30, no one is here. I call - she called in again to say she would be arriving at 2pm. Well it’s 2:10pm, here I sit outside of the building, and no one is around. It took 10 minutes to get someone from the call center to answer. Abysmal service and if I didn’t absolutely need this unit and not want to haul a ton of stuff to a new location, I would absolutely take my business elsewhere. But I guess that’s how they get you, they know it’s a necessity for a lot of people and can get away with treating customers poorly.

Liz was absolutely amazing in helping us locate and transfer to a new unit that better suited our needs. She is a very knowledgeable and dedicated representative for the US Storage organization and they are lucky to have her! Moving can be very stressful but Liz made the experience infinitely better for us. Thank you!! And I highly recommend the US Storage facility in downtown Durham for not only its clean, organized property but its really wonderful staff!!
