Update: the company reached out within 36 hours of my gate issues, and said that the gate is working again. As it continues working, I’m adjusting the star rating upwards, hoping that I did just have some real bad luck with setup. I’ll post about reliability of gate in this update section, and update the original review text for inaccuracies. It has worked once since I was informed of this. They also said that while the AI chat/phone bot isn’t always accurate, everything is eventually reviewed by a person to improve it, and to reach out and correct any bad calls it makes. Original but edited post: On paper, if things work this is an amazing facility and business model. You can sign up online or in person without any human interaction, and also access your unit, 24/7/365. Unfortunately if something goes wrong, it’s just an AI on the phone after hours if the gate won’t open properly or you have questions about billing. They do have people reachable by phone during the day, but the hours for that don’t match the posted “open hours” in google or Apple Maps. This location also doesn’t have a backup keypad for when the QR-code gate access doesn’t work, even though many of the Ten-Federal locations do. I’ve already had to deal with this once in my first 8 weeks when it’s a brand new facility. The billing setup is odd, it’s on the first of the month regardless of when you move in. So factor that into any “free x months” promotion. One of the months is partial. The only other downsides are lack of restrooms, and unusually short loading carts compared to most indoor climate controlled facilities.

I have used storage units before but none were as nice as the one I just rented at 10 Federal. The price was unbelievable for the size of unit I’m renting. I was always skeptical about an inside climate controlled building with multiple floors transporting all my items, boxes and furniture. They have made it so easy; automatic sliding doors, provide a small flat bed dolly to use and the elevator just feet away. The temperature inside is cool and the cement floors are so clean. It is very well lighted inside and outside, day and night with gated entry. The gentleman that talked us thru the process to sign up was very friendly and had a lot of patience, nice guy. I’m so impressed with place.
