We used 2 air conditioned units. Both units were clean and the hallway was well maintained. There are even individual light systems with various timings in each unit. That was a game changer. The staff was friendly and efficient. Overall we would highly recommend Affordable Storage on 82nd & Upland!

I will never in my life recommend this storage company, I wish I could give them 0 stars!! In September of 2024, I rented a 15x30 unit at a total discounted price of $180. The manager at the time, Marshall, was very friendly and helpful! I told him because times are so hard I had decided to go back to school and because of this I specifically asked him about price increases. He assured me the rent would only increase once every 6 months to a year by about $20–$25. He also told me as a tenant I could use one of their trailers free for 24 hours for either move in or move out. Well less than a year later the rent has more than doubled from $180 to $369 in one jump. I called as soon as I saw the automatic draft and a very rude woman named Elizabeth answered. When I asked for Marshall she was quick to interrupt me, told me he no longer worked there and that she was the new manager. I explained the agreement I was given, that I could not afford such a large increase. She did not act like she cared at all, was very dismissive. I am not naive, I never expected the price to stay the same but I never expected it to jump so high within the first increase. She told me she would talk to her boss and call or text me back but never did. The next month, I called again before rent was due, hoping for an update. The person who answered didn’t know my situation at the time to be able to give information and Elizabeth wasn’t available. They charged me $369 the same day. I then called another location and their manager confirmed what I had originally been told: increases are supposed to be in the $20–$25 range. He said I could transfer to his location at very close to the original discounted price: $189. He also told me he would talk to them and tell them to call me with an update so maybe I wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of moving. They did call me the next day and after “looking into it,” the only options I was given were to drop to a smaller unit or pay I think she said $280…still $100 more than what I started at, and far beyond the promised increase. I told her I was not interested and would find storage elsewhere. I then asked about the free trailer for move-out that Marshall had promised, I figured I could at least use it now since I never used it for move in. I was told because there was nothing noted in my file, it would now cost me $60 per day. Renters beware!! This company does not honor its word, does not communicate properly with customers, and clearly does not care about the financial strain they’re putting on people. This experience has been nothing but stress and disappointment. I would never recommend this company to anyone and I will never be back. I found a much better deal and wayyy better customer service at Discount Storage and they were very shocked to hear what happened but I guess not too shocked because apparently they’ve been getting a lot of new customers from them.

I was needing the smallest unit to store school stuff so when I made the phone call and spoke to Marshall I let him know that I was a teacher, and I needed to store school stuff in a climate controlled unit. He discussed several options available to me over the phone, and to my surprise, he let me know that teachers could use a storage unit (free of charge) for the summer, at the Upland and 82nd location. A couple of hours later, I went to visit with him to go over my options and he was so helpful and friendly. He made sure that I got a storage unit close to the door to make it easier for me to bring in boxes. He also made sure I had a larger unit to facilitate moving around when looking for something. I have used Affordable Storage several times before and I have always been treated with respect and all my questions have always been answered. However, this particular location just made my day. I would give them more than five stars if it was an option and I most definitely recommend them to anyone needing to store a little or a lot. Marshall is knowledgeable about what a customer needs. He answered all of my questions. He goes above and beyond for his customers and makes sure they are 100% satisfied and their needs have been met.
