CubeSmart Self Storage

I give five stars to the manager UB at this CubeSmart location, and four stars for the online reservation process. UB is a gem. As soon as I booked my storage unit online, he called within a few hours to confirm and go over the details with me. Then, when I showed up later that week for check-in, he walked me through the rental agreement and met me at the unit to explain how the lock worked, etc. He also directed me to the app so I could easily gain access to the facility in the future. He was polite, friendly and eager to help in any way he could. The online booking itself: I give demerits here, because I chose an interior unit that I could've sworn said "climate controlled" online, but when I arrived, I was told climate controlled was not available (even though it was an interior unit). This could've been user error, but I literally searched on that feature. The other misleading thing is that they quote you for one price online, but they add insurance to the monthly bill when you sign off on your rental. Again, this was likely my error - home or apartment rental insurance covers storage unit contents, but we had neither to fall back on (since our main place is out of state), so I was forced to pay a hefty insurance premium for the space. Overall, though, I thought the entire process went well, and I credit UB for making the experience a positive one.

Infested with rats. I’ve been here 3 years and besides my unit being broken into, it’s been mostly okay. Staff is friendly. However the last 6 months has been awful. It reeks of rat piss. I find them dead in the hallways. Droppings everywhere. They’ve chewed up a lot of my things. It’s a serious health concern if you spend anytime in there and the problem only seems to be getting worse. Do not recommend.

We won a auction unit there and had to put up a $200 cash cleaning deposit within 72hours. The manager notified me that we had lost our deposit for not cleaning it out on time even though it had only been 48hours the manager also said that Storage Treasure had taken our $200 deposit and there's nothing he can do. I know that's not true Storage Treasure does not have anything to do with the deposit. This was obvious we were getting screwed over by the manager . After showing the manager we had 72 hours not 24 before end of the day he says Storage Treasure gave the deposit back and gave it to me. Bullshit scam gone wrong for him. Sketchy
