CubeSmart Self Storage

Went in to speak to Jonathan about a unit I wanted to see, very well spoken man and knowledgeable. Had lots of info on storage policy and more. Something I have not been able to get anywhere else and not trying to push a unit on you like other companies. Set forth good and bad points about the process and well if I hadn’t already got another unit I would deffinetly sign on the spot next time. Thanks Jonathan.

This facility is absolutely infested with rats. We kept our belongings here and when we came to pick them up it was immediately clear the building is overrun. There were rat traps set up outside the building, so there is no way CubeSmart was unaware. As soon as we walked in we saw critters running across the floor. On top of that, when you first pull up to the property you can see people living in the first storage unit on the left — next to with personal items and activity clearly showing someone is occupying a storage unit as a residence. He was taking a shower with hose in the parking lot. That alone shows how poorly this place is managed. There had also been a prior break-in to our unit. CubeSmart did inform us of that and claimed they had “put everything back.” That was not true — when we opened the unit, items were still thrown everywhere from the break-in. Then it got even worse. When we lifted one drawer, a dozen rats shot out and ran in every direction. They had chewed through boxes, tubs and furniture. The entire unit was soaked in urine and covered in droppings. It was a biohazard. We could literally hear rats scurrying in the walls and other units. I have never seen that many rats at once in my life. Our lock had been changed and the old lock was left inside — meaning CubeSmart went into the unit multiple times after the break-in and still never informed us that our belongings were being destroyed by an infestation. Meanwhile, we kept paying for a unit full of ruined items. We drove from Las Vegas to California only to find out we couldn’t take a single thing. We lost irreplaceable photos, sentimental belongings, and personal memories — all destroyed. Standing there looking at everything in filth and pieces was absolutely heartbreaking. That building should be inspected by the health department and condemned. If you care about your belongings — or even basic sanitation — stay far away from this place. The last photo is what it looked like when we packed the unit. I can’t even eat I’m disgusted by the whole experience. Update : called them and no answer, absolute disgusting company . Look all the reviews on yelp where people stuff was stolen and them doing nothing about it.

Only 5vstarts because Jonathan the manager is great there. Rates are also reasonable. Only downfall is the homeless near by. Otherwise, very clean facility and great customer service!
