I’ve been a customer with them for about a decade at multiple locations! I’m so lucky to have found such great people to store with! They always address your concerns and are amazing people!!! Thank you!

The owners are very friendly and nice. And it's such a laid back place. Your stuff is very safe here. 24 HR surveillance all the time. Plus the gate closes right behind you and that's a great thing too. This was my 1st time having to get a building an this was the 1st place i picked so i stuck with it. An im very glad i did. Thank you all for doing a great job there. 😀

We rented a climate controlled unit at the 845 East Center St., Kingsport, Tn 37660 location. It was to be a long-term rental 3-4 years until my daughter finished college. We do not live in Kingsport but live four hours away. We stored most of our belongings in the unit - furniture, antiques, paintings, shoes, photos, books, plus many other nice items. Our fault, we did not check on unit as often as we should have - it had been about 9 months - but in July we stopped by around 9:30 p.m. to check on our unit. There were silverfish all over the building. Someone had placed bug traps on the floor. Silverfish live in dark, damp areas and will eat book bindings, carpet, clothing, coffee, dandruff, glue, hair, some paints, paper, photos, plaster, sugar, tapestries. cotton, dead insects, linen, silk, and may even attack leatherware and synthetic fabrics. They will destroy items made from paper, cloth, leather, etc. I called the main office the next day and left a message to return my call. A lady called back within a few minutes. I explained to her about the silverfish. She said this was the first she had heard about it. So I asked who placed the bug traps. She didn't know. I said we were worried about our items. Her response: well you should move out. She was not concerned that the building had a silverfish infestation. We did remove our items before the end of July. These bugs were running around the unit as we packed. When we removed the plastic we had placed on the floor, there was a greasy substance that had leaked underneath the plastic. Cloth and paper had a bad odor. We had to unpack everything outside and we had to throw away books, paper items, some clothing and a couch due to silverfish damage. These people were very nice when we rented but we found out they do not care about your belongings and become rude in a second. If you have nice items and don't want them damaged, Avoid Gateway Self Storage.
