Public Storage

This storage is infested by vermin. I rented a space with them starting February this year. At first when I was going there I didn’t realize how bad it was. I was seeing mess up items and just trash them. When I went back on September to pick up my stuff I found rat poo and pee everywhere messing up all my stuffs. There was even a mouse dead body in the unit. Some of the items were rusted and for a temperature controlled unit I was surprised. When I requested for my stuff to be replaced or deeply cleaned they told me the insurance orange door that I get thru public storage will handle it. After I contacted the insurance they told me I quote « Your certificate of storage insurance provides coverage up to $250 for damage caused by Vermin, subject to a $100 deductible…» I rented a 8*18 unit that was full containing literally everything from a 2bdr. how a up to $150 can fix all this mess. I keep trying to reach out to the storage manager but no longer having an unit there seems impossible to reach out to them to fix the issue. I am really disappointed and don’t know what to do at this point.

I dont love the limited hours of availability here or the fact there are only 2 carts for the entire building, which is why the 4 star rating. But the service and kindness i received from the staff? I'd give 6 stars if i could! The people I talked to while I rented here were second to none, and they made things fast and friendly. I would be happy to rent from this location again, and I know the staff here would continue to take the best care of me.

This storage has been the worst experience of my life. I wish I had the money to move again and get my things out of here. Homeless people sleep in the bathrooms and in the hallways at night. I’m a woman with a baby, and whenever I go there, I’m so scared that I have to ask a male friend to please help me take some of my things out. Several of my baby’s belongings were ruined—clothes, car seat, a mattress, baby bathtub, parts of the stroller, books. Everyone knows how expensive baby items are, and this happened because they have no rodent control. All these things were left unused due to the rat feces and urine that are constantly present in this place. Everyone knows I can’t reuse these items, not even after washing them, because my child could get leptospirosis, and I’d rather lose money than lose him. There's almost never any staff available to help, and I started paying around $140 in June 2024—now, this month, I have to pay $240. It’s truly insane. What a shitty place. Never come here.
