Fail-closed v2 methods validation · 2026-07-11
Public structured-offer collection pilot
The current pilot tests the complete v2 provenance contract: public facility-page identity, robots decisions, request and response hashes, structured-offer fingerprints, and validation-only quarantine. It is a systems validation—not a representative market sample, rate report, source-rights approval, or numeric index release.
Structured price does not mean research observation
The v2 parser observed 475 structured single-price fields and 608 offers without a usable point price. Because this was validation-only, all 1083 offers remained release-ineligible. A structured amount cannot be called recurring rent or enter an index until source rights, facility identity, field semantics, structural fingerprint, availability, repeat-period matching, and every publication gate qualify.
Source-pattern results
Aggregate parser outcomes only; no prices or source-page content are republished.

Why v2 correctly withholds every estimate
Validation mode intentionally establishes no source-use approval and no recurring-rent semantics. The run also has only one collection period, so it has no matched products, matched facilities, change estimate, or facility-clustered interval. All national, state, and city outputs are therefore suppressed.
Historical 100-page diagnostic, explicitly retired from ingestion
A pre-v2 run fetched 100 pages and parsed 1134 structured offers, including 476 syntactic USD/dimension point candidates. It remains published as historical parser evidence, but its contract did not preserve all v2 identity, rights, request, and structural-drift fields. It cannot be persisted or used in a research release.
Collection controls exercised
- Explicit two-domain allowlist and an identified research user agent.
- Validation-only run; no source-rights approval or aggregate publication permission was inferred from robots access.
- Robots evaluation before each public facility-page fetch, with fail-closed behavior.
- 2,000 ms minimum per-domain delay and bounded concurrency.
- Schema.org JSON-LD Offer and OfferCatalog only; no visible-dollar or review extraction.
- Protected account, login, API, reservation, lease, checkout, and payment paths rejected.
Artifact policy
The raw run stayed outside the repository. This public artifact preserves only aggregate counts, parser and snapshot versions, collection controls, exclusions, and a SHA-256 audit fingerprint. It does not relicense or redistribute third-party offers, page copy, logos, or source URLs.

Observations included in a research index: 0. The pilot proves that public structured offers can be collected under the v2 validation contract; it does not prove national, state, city, unit-size, operator, promotion, or trend estimates.
